Texas License to Carry (LTC) Certification

The LTC course is for experienced shooters, so if you have never handled a firearm, you must get handgun training before attending this course. There are two parts of the course, the classroom followed by the handgun proficiency.

After successfully completing the course, the student will receive a Certificate of Training (LTC-100).

For the handgun proficiency exam, a passing score of 175 points or 70% (out of a possible 250 points) is required. The B-27 silhouette target is required for the course and all shooting is from the ready position, so a holster will not be used.

It is recommended that students qualify with a semi-automatic pistol. Qualifying with a semi-automatic pistol certifies the student to carry a pistol or revolver, but if the student qualifies with a revolver, they are only certified to carry a revolver.
